In some way, shape, or form, we all desire to have control. Control of what we spend money on, control of our schedule, control of who we spend time with. Control can be a good thing…but sometimes we need to let go of our need for control.
This is not an easy task. Especially for those who always want to be in control (guilty over here). However, we need to learn to let go of control of our lives and place it in God’s hands. Letting go of control, thinking you know best, thinking you know what’s right, and letting Him take the driver’s seat instead. If you fully surrender your own life in His hands, if you fully relinquish control, you will find an unexplainable peace.
Fear can take a grip on you, it can easily overtake you. Fear of the future, fear of not measuring up, fear of messing up. Fear can be an endless cycle…until you replace it with hope. Hope is a result of trust. Trust is a result of relinquishing control. God made the entire universe. God made you. Can’t you trust Him with your life? Can’t you trust that He knows best? Can’t you trust that He knows what He is doing? Can’t you trust in His timing? It’s easy to question Him, doubt Him, think He’s “holding back” from you. But God’s word says, “He does not withhold any good thing from those who love Him” (Ps. 84:11). So, if you love Jesus, then He isn’t withholding any good thing from you! Woah…let me repeat that. If you love Jesus, He is not withholding any good thing from you! Let that sink in. He knows what’s best for your life. He knows what He’s doing. I encourage you to trust in Him. Trust Him with His timing. Trust Him with your future. Trust that He knows what He’s doing, because He certainly does! I pray that you find peace in knowing that the God of the universe knows you by name, and He will direct your paths if you let Him (Prov. 3:5-6)!
