The wind is truly incredible and unlike anything else. You see it working through the trees, tossing snow back and forth on the roads, and through the ocean waves. Wind is a constant source that we need. Although you can see its effects throughout your daily life, you can’t physically see or hold the wind. If I asked you to describe it, you would describe what it does and what it is. In the same way, God is a resemblance of the wind. He is always there. He is always fighting for us. He is constantly at work. When He moves, it makes a vast impact. But we can’t always see it.
We don’t always see when He is at work in a situation in our lives. There’s a famous story of “the footprints in the sand” that describes just that. Picture an image of two footprints side by side in the sand walking by the ocean shore, and then suddenly there is only one set of footprints. What does that mean? It’s in the hard times that we often feel as if God isn’t with us, that He abandoned us. But that isn’t the slightest bit of truth. In those moments, God is with us the most. And it’s in those moments He is holding us, resulting in only one set of footprints being seen. God sometimes reveals to us, whether in big or small ways, when He is at work in a situation. Maybe you just lost a loved one, and when you got in the car after a morning full of tears and sorrow, your loved one’s favorite song came on. Or maybe you are dreaming for something in your life that hasn’t quite happened yet, and God reveals to you a glimpse of hope for the exact thing you’re praying for. Those are the moments where God is showing you that He hears you and He cares about you…even in the small ways. And He doesn’t want you to lose hope.
Faith can often feel like the wind. Maybe you feel like your faith isn’t doing anything because you aren’t seeing the “results”. But trust me when I say, your faith IS doing something! The Bible speaks on faith heavily. Believing in a God you can’t physically see, that takes faith! Believing God will make a way when there seems to be no way, that takes faith! Believing God will provide for you even though your spouse just lost their job, that takes faith! Faith honors God, and God honors faith. I encourage you to keep your faith. Keep believing in the impossible. Keep believing He will make a way where there seems to be no way. Keep believing that He is good, even when your life seems to be falling apart. Because He is still good, regardless of your current situations. Learn to be content in where He has placed you. Keep praying and keep believing! You’ll see Him do it again.
